WHY TEXAS AND
FOR HEAVEN’S SAKE WHY AMARILLO?
Texas has long
been an attractive home state to those with the luxury of
choice. Its lack of a state income tax, diversity, economy
and its native population with a profound respect for
privacy and property rights are just a few reasons why.
Texas is a non-disclosure state, meaning the purchase price
and primary ownership of your property does not necessarily
fall into the category of “public” information.
Amarillo was cited by New York real
estate mogul Barbara Corcoran, speaking on October 27, 2008
on NBC’s “Today” show
as the second among five markets where real estate
investors can still “make money” in this challenging economy
and by San Francisco’s Veros Real Estate Solutions as fourth
among the top five non-metropolitan markets expected to
remain the strongest from September 2008 to September 2009.
Reasons cited included low unemployment, foreclosure rates
at one half that of the rest of the nation and familial
stability. Amarillo has two airports, both of which handle
private traffic. Its commercial, international airport
boasts a huge runway that can accommodate virtually any type
of aircraft, including the space shuttle. Its central US
location makes travel by jet to almost any point in the US
just a few short hours away. The main airport is a short
fifteen minute drive from #22 Carnoustie, and there is no
such thing as rush hour in Amarillo.
Though its
population is just under 200,000, it has the diversity and
cultural choices of a much larger city. Its symphony,
ballet and theater are nationally and internationally
recognized. Its doctors and medical facilities are world
class. Its private and public education opportunities are
vast and highly rated. Even so, it maintains its small town
comfort, security and convenience.
Why not Amarillo?
